This Record Sub-Group contains records created by various UMC Committees that are composed of faculty members only.

Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:24/2/1 (A89-13)
This Series contains materials related to University-Wide Professors Seeking To Recover Excellence And Mirth (UPSTREAM), (1983). This organization was developed "out of concern for low morale and counterproductive attitudes of doom, gloom and pessimism pervasive on the UMC campus, UPSTREAM is an effort to counteract, in positive fashion, defeatism leading to a self-fulfilling prophecy." The group's stated purpose was "to create a caring, trusting climate on our [MU] campuses." Included are correspondence, newsletters, bumper stickers, buttons, t-shirts, logo design.

Series 2. - C:24/2/2 (A03-57)
This Series contains printed and duplicated material as well as memoranda created by or in accordance with the Committee of Public Exercises, (1906-1915). The records are contained in a scrapbook and consist of convocation and commencement announcements, programs, broadsheets, invitations, tickets, and campus memoranda. The majority of the records were produced while George Lefevre was chairman of the Committee.

Series 3. - C:24/2/3 (A09-03)
This Series contains two U-matic video tapes of a lecture by Richard van der Ross, Rector of the University of the Western Cape, (1986). The lecture was sponsored by the University of Missouri's International Affairs Council and concerned educational policy in South Africa. The University of Missouri-System established an association with the University of the Western Cape through the efforts of the South African Educational Program Committee. Dr. van der Ross was introducted by MU Provost Lois DeFleur.

Series 4. - C:24/2/4 (A17-10)
This Series contains records pertaining to meetings of the faculty as a body at the University of Missouri or to Faculty Council which represents that body, (2015-2017). The records consist of audio and video recordings of general faculty meetings.

Series 5. - C:24/2/5 (A22-08)
This Series contains records created and received by the University of Missouri's Faculty Council, (1965-2017). The records pertain to Faculty Council meetings and projects, and include the following types and topics: meeting minutes, memoranda, correspondence, membership lists, Council sub-committees, campus committees, university and campus policies and by-laws, Staff Advisory Council, Intercampus Faculty Council, Administrative Review, the academic calendar, and tenure regulations.

Series 6. - C:24/2/6 (A24-10)
This Series contains reports of the University of Missouri's Committee on Statistics, (1909-1924). The reports are the "Report of Statistics on Grading", (1909-1923), and the "Report of Statistics on Scholarship of Fraternities and Athletes", (1909-1924). The former reports regard grades given by faculty to students (E, S, M, I, F); the latter break down the grades (E, S, M, I, F, and Cr.) of the University's fraternities and major sport athletes in comparision to the University as a whole. Beginning with the 1921-1922 report, the "Statistics on Grading" provide information per department rather than per faculty member.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
