Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group contains event files created by the University of Missouri-Columbia's Office of University Events. University Events promotes the University through public relations events. The records consist of speech texts, programs, newsclippings, agendas, guest lists, memoranda, invitations, and fiscal records. The Sub-Group also contains video tape and DVDs of a variety of events organized by the Office of University Events. The Office is also involved with the management of the Chancellor's Residence (formerly the President's House) on the Francis Quadrangle.

Series 1. - C:1/145/NP (A99-41)
This Series consists of records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia's Office of University Events, (1993). It contains records of Football Brunches hosted by Chancellor Charles Keisler.

This Series contains event files created and received by the University of Missouri-Columbia's Office of University Events, (1980-2021, bulk 1995-2015). The event files contain fiscal records, programs, newsclippings, press releases, agendas, guest lists, correspondence, memoranda, invitations, photographs (often of place settings and room decor), and some texts of event speeches, remarks or introductions. Some of the events represented in the records of this Series are the Chancellor's Football Brunches, Honors Convocation, All Faculty Meetings, Friends of Music, Mizzou Tour Team, and Francis Quadrangle and Jesse Hall Centennial Celebration. The Series also includes video from and/or used at various events, including the Shutz Award Lectures and the Kemper Awards faculty announcements.

Series 3. - C:1/145/2 (A11-53)
This Series contains photographic prints created by the Office of University Events, (2010). The photographs depict the delivery to Jesse Hall and installation by Campus Facilities of the cornerstone of Academic Hall and its display case.

Series 4. - C:1/145/3 (A13-01; A13-22; A14-08)
This Series contains miscellaneous records collected by the Office of University Events, (1987, 1989, 1992, 2011). Many of the items in this Series pertain to the University of Missouri's Sesquicentennial and include: an "Experience the Pride" pin, a Sesquicentennial observance brochure, a Jesse Hall Dome Lighting program, Sesquicentennial news clippings, a Sesquicentennial Commencement program and medallion, Sesquicentennial calendars, Sesquicentennial posters, a "Geyer Act" poster with a list of founding families on the reverse, and a set of commemorative photographic prints depicting views of the MU campus. Also included in this Series are news clippings related to MU recruitment and enrollment prior to the Sesquicentennial, (1987), memorabilia, (1992), pertaining to Mort Walker as Scholar-in Residence and the Beetle Bailey statue, and an Honors Convocation medallion. In addition, Series 4 contains photographic prints and print-outs of the Chancellor's Staff, (2011), Spouses' Valentine's Tea, (n.d.), and the Beetle Bailey statue dedication, (1992).

Series 5. - C:1/145/4 (A14-07; A15-61)
This Series contains event records created by the Office of University Events, (ca. 1980-2012). The records consist of photographic prints of various events organized by University Events. The majority of photographs document the arrangement of tables, decorations, and catering as well as the location for the events. Photographs for some events do include attendees, however. Among the events documented by the records in this Series are Homecoming, faculty awards, lectures, and retirements. The Series also includes miscellaneous holiday greeting cards from various MU chancellors.

Series 6. - C:1/145/5 (A14-91)
This Series contains fiscal and administrative records created and received by the Office of University Events, (1987-1990). The records pertain to the planning and administration of the Sesquicentennial Celebration at the University of Missouri and consist in large part of budget and fiscal files and, to a lesser degree, of correspondence, memoranda, printed and duplicated, committee files, project lists, order of events, and other such material.

Series 7. - C:1/145/6 (A16-08)
This Series contains administrative and other records from the Office of University Events, (ca. 1984-2015). The records pertain to the management of the Chancellor's Residence on the Francis Quadrangle and include: meeting minutes and other records from the Chancellor's Residence Preservation Society; renovation and construction records; and photographs, (2006).

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
