Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri President's Office pertaining to Councils and Committees of the UM-System administration. Included are correspondence, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, governing guidelines, treasurers' reports, standing committee reports, news articles, informational files, photographs and negatives, screening files, position candidate vitae, position candidate visit schedules, nominations, recommendations and rules and regulations.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - UW:4/0/4 (A89-66; A90-85; A01-34; A23-68)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri President's Office pertaining to the University of Missouri Staff Advisory Council, (1988-2003). Included are correspondence, membership lists, meeting agendas and summaries, meeting minutes, governing guidelines, treasurer's reports, information files, photographs and negatives of candidates, (1993), and group photographs of council members, (1989-2003). Also included are information files and reports by standing committees of the Council, such as the Election Committee, Employee Benefits Committee, Parking and Transportation Committee, and Salary and Wage Committee. Correspondence in this Series includes that exchanged with University of Missouri Presidents C. Peter Magrath and UM-System Vice President (future University of Missouri-Columbia Chancellor) Richard L. Wallace, as well as Executive Vice President James T. McGill.

This Series contains records of the University of Missouri President's Office pertaining to the UM-System Search and Screening Committee (1965-1977). The records in this Series relate to the Committee's efforts in searches to fill the offices of University of Missouri President (1965, 1970, and 1976), University of Missouri-Kansas City Chancellor (1967 and 1977), University of Missouri-St. Louis Chancellor (1969), and University of Missouri-Columbia Chancellor (1971). Included are correspondence, photographs, screening files, candidate vitae, candidate visit schedules, candidate nominations, and committee recommendations.

Included are meeting minutes, reports, lists of department chairmen, lists of standing committees, and a copy of the 1938 edition of The University of Missouri at Columbia Miscellaneous Rules and Regulations.

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
