Scope and Content Note

This Record Sub-Group contains printed and duplicated material created by the Geographic Resources Center of the University of Missouri-Columbia. The records in this Sub-Group include congressional district maps for Missouri.

Historical Note:

The Geographic Resources Center (GRC) is part of the Department of Geography at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The GRC serves as a "multidisciplinary applied research and teaching facility for geographic and remote sensing data analysis." Part of the Center's focus is on applied geographic information systems, remote sensing and cartography. The GRC was established in 1980. Additional information about the GRC is available from the Center's website: http://www.grc.missouri.edu/.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - C:6/21/2 (A03-21)
This Series contains records produced by the Geographic Resources Center in association with the Missouri Office of Administration, (ca. 2001). The records consist of copies of six congressional district maps for Missouri. The maps are for St. Louis, St. Louis County, St. Charles County and Jackson County. The maps are 36"x48".

Note to Researcher: Redistricting maps for the State of Missouri are available at the Secretary of State website or they can be accessed at the Missouri State Archives.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
