Scope and Content Note

This Sub-Group contains printed and duplicated materials produced by the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources and its sub-units. Included in this Sub-Group are catalogs, bulletins, newsletters, reports, directories, programs, publications, articles, and magazines. Directories may be in regard to active students and faculty or alumni of the College.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - C:3/38/1
This Series contains an incomplete collection of catalogs and bulletins produced by the UMC College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, (1873--). Catalogs provide lists of courses offered names of faculty, entrance requirements, graduation requirements, and semester schedules. Also included in this Series are five graduate directories listing alumni, for 1873-1927, 1873-1941, 1873-1952, 1873-1958, and 1873-1963.

Series 2. - C:3/00/1
This Series contains two bound volumes of "Missouri College of Agriculture Copy Service" news bulletins, (1915-1921). These bulletins are numbered 1 through 364.

Series 3. - C:3/00/5 (A93-120)
This Series contains one program booklet entitled Portrait of Edwin A. Trowbridge: Presented to the Saddle and Sirloin Club of Chicago by the American Society of Animal Production, November 30, 1941. Also included in the Series is a news clipping of the obituary of MU College of Agriculture Dean, Edwin A. Trowbridge.

Series 4. - C:3/00/2 (A86-54; A00-76)
This Series contains an incomplete publication run of a UMC College of Agriculture student magazine known as Missouri College Farmer, (1904-1961). This publication features articles regarding activities of the various departments and divisions of the College of Agriculture as well agricultural clubs and fraternities and student activities, such as Barnwarming, banquets, fairs, and horse shows.

Series 5. - C:3/00/6
This Series contains a mimeographed copy of a work entitled Report of Dean John H. Longwell to Department Chairmen, (08/29/1960). This report includes College of Agriculture budget data from the years 1942 through 1961 and a brief history of the MU Agricultural Experiment Station. Also included in this Series are two printed copies of a second work entitled Report of the Dean of the Agricultural College to the 34th General Assembly of Missouri, (1887).

Series 6. - C:3/00/4 (A92-29)
This Series contains 2 copies of the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Agriculture Alumni Directory, (1986 and 1990). These publications list College of Agriculture alumni by date of graduation, name, and geographical location. Biographical sketches are also provided for those alumni who returned a completed update questionnaire.

Series 7. - C:3/24/4 (A86-54; A96-67)
This Series contains copies of a publication entitled Agrineer, (1958-1971, 1974). This monthly periodical was published by the UMC Extension Agricultural Engineering Project and contained practical information concerning agricultural engineering topics. This Series does not hold a complete publication run of the Agrineer.

This Series contains copies of UMC Department of Agricultural Economics' newsletters and announcements (1964-1988). Included in this Series are copies of a newsletter entitled Newsline, an information sheets entitled Bits and Pieces, and Greenleaf, and various announcements, many of them from the Department Chair.

This Series contains pamphlets, newsletters, catalogues, and magazines from administrative offices of the MU College of Agriculture as well as from various schools housed under the umbrella of the College, (ca. 1907-). These schools include Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife, Food Science, Ag Economics, Ag Engineering, Ag Education, and Ag Journalism. The Series also includes publications of activities for Agriculture Students and of the Agriculture Student Council. Deaton, Francis McCamley, Bruce Bullock, Harold Breimyer, Glenn Grimes, James Rhodes, and Melvin Blase.
