Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group holds printed and duplicated materials generated by the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics (UMCHC). Included are informational pamphlets, newsletters, guidelines, annual reports, patient manuals, and brochures.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:23/00/1 (Various; A08-35)
This Series holds copies of UMCHC general information pamphlets, guidelines for referring patients, patient manuals and patient education materials, annual reports, brochures including the 1956 UMC Hospital dedication brochure, materials commemorating the Hospital's 50th anniversary (2006), and informational brochures on continuing education programs, grand rounds and conferences and other faculty/staff resources. Also included are newsletters such as Slice of Life, Staff Life, and Staff for Life, Caring, RENEW Report, Inside Track, the staff magazine Archives, as well as MM Health Care printed and duplicated materials like InSight, a newsletter for University of Missouri Health Care employees. This Series also contains cafeteria menus entitled Spice of Life.

Series 2. - C:23/00/3 (A95-43; various)
This Series holds annual reports produced by the Ellis Fischel State Cancer Center (1982-1989, 1997-2006).

Note to Researcher: In 1990, the University of Missouri-Columbia assumed administrative control of the Ellis Fischel Center and it became a part of UMCHC. Cancer Commission Meetings (1982-1989) records are available at Sub-Group 9 of this Record Group.
Series 3. - C:23/00/2
This Series contains general printed and duplicated material of University Physicians, (1985-). The material includes, among other record types, brochures, pamphlets, guides, newsletters, and publications pertaining to physicians, clinics, procedures, and general information. Some of the titles are: It's New and UPdate. This collection also includes physician directories for University Physicians (1996-1997, 2002-2011).

Note to Archivist: This Series was added in April 2012. A previous collection using C:23/00/2 was incorporated into the vertical file for "Ellis Fischel Cancer Center."
Series 4. - C:23/00/4
This Series contains general printed and duplicated material of the Howard A. Rusk Rehabilitation Center, (1978-). The material includes, among other record types, brochures, pamphlets, booklets, guides, and response forms pertaining to patient education, services, and general information. Also included in this Series are issues of the newsletter The Rusk Reporter, (1980-1992).

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
