Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group contains administrative records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospitals and Clinics Office of Public Relations, Media Relations, Marketing, and Communications. This collection contains records relating to the 1995 proposed affiliation with TENET, a health care corporation, the 50th Anniversary Gala, press release packets, Operations redesign, and the opening of the Parker Memorial Hospital time capsule.

Series 1. - C:23/15/NP (A01-29)
This Series contains administrative records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospitals and Clinics Office of Public Relations, (1995). The records in this Series all relate to the proposed affiliation of the University Hospitals and Clinics with TENET, a health care corporation. Included are media articles, reports, internal correspondence, presentations, and offering memoranda.

The records consist of the following types and topics: University Hospital's 50th Anniversary, (2006), Health Sciences Committee, press releases, Operations redesign, (2000), MU Hospital and Clinics Advisory Task Force Report, (2002), and layoffs, (2002)

Series 3. - C:23/15/2 (A23-41)
This Series contains video footage and photography created by Strategic Communications and Media Relations of Univeristy of Missouri Health Care, (2022). The records document the opening of a time capsule discovered in the cornerstone of Parker Hall during its demolition in September of 2022. The opening was organized by the School of Medicine and Internal Communications in the University of Missouri's Joint Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing. Participants in the opening were University President and MU Chancellor Mun Choi, Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Dean of the School of Medicine Richard Barohn, MU student Drew A. Walters, and University of Missouri archivists Gary Cox and Anselm Huelsbergen. The video footage was captured by Ben Stewart and the photography was done by Justin Kelley.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
