Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group holds printed and duplicated materials produced by the University of Missouri-Columbia Museums and Art Collections. Included are newsletters, annual reports, catalogues, news releases, calendars, programs, and museum handbooks.
Series 1. - C:21/1/1
This Series contains copies of the MU Museum of Art and Archaeology newsletter and magazine, (1977-2021). The publication provides information about new exhibits, new donations, new additions to collections, newly appointed staff members, interviews with artists and conservators, and articles highlighting the Museum's needs. The publication was originally titled MUSE Letter. In 1985, the newsletter's title was changed to The News. In 2002, beginning with Issue No. 41, the publication was changed to a magazine format and retitled as Museum Magazine.

Series 2. - C:21/1/2
This Series contains copies of the MU Museum of Art and Archaeology publication entitled, Muse: Annual of the Museum of Art and Archaeology (ca. 1967-2011, 2014-2016). This publication includes the director's annual report, a list of new acquisitions, information on archaeological excavations and museum exhibits, and articles that describe objects of special interest within the museum's holdings. Also included are photographs and line art, illustrating exhibits, acquisitions, and museum staff members.

Series 4. - C:21/1/6 (A11-122)
This Series contains records created by the MU Museum of Art and Archaeology, (2008). The records consist of a video production (DVD-R; running time: 48 minutes) entitled "Women of Vision at the University of Missouri Museum of Art & Archaeology." The production was written by and features Museum Curator Mary Pixley. The video was produced by the Academic Support Center.

This Series contains general printed and duplicated material of the University of Missouri's Museum of Art and Archaeology, (ca. 1979-). The material includes, among other record types, brochures, flyers, invitations, press releases, calendars, pamphlets, and publications pertaining to programs, events, Museum Associates, the Museum Shop, and general information, as well as the children's book A is for Art and Archaeology: Exploring the University of Missouri's Museum of Art and Archaeology from A to Z, (2013). The Series also includes printed and duplicated material of the Missouri Folk Arts Program administered by the Museum of Art and Archaeology.

Series 6. - C:21/1/8 (A23-79)
This Series contains printed and duplicated material of the University of Missouri's Museum of Art and Archaeology, (2010). The material pertains to an exhibition entitled "Ancient Bronzes of the Asian Grasslands from the Arthur M. Sackler Foundation" that was held at the Museum of Art and Archaeology from October 16, 2010 through December 24, 2010. The material, originally contained in a binder, includes an electronic copy and printed-out pages of the exhibition book, a multimedia optical disc, and a brochure.
