Record Group: 16 C Scope and Content Note (A04-17) Historical Note: In 1957, a community development program was initiated by the School of Social Work to be made available through the Division of Continuing Education. In 1965, the School of Social Work and Community Services was established. It was comprised of the School of Social Work, Department of Regional and Community Affairs (the community development program which had been formerly administered by the School of Social Work), and the Department of Recreation. The School of Social and Community Services was renamed the College of Public and Community Services in 1975. The Department of Regional and Community Affairs was renamed the Department of Community Development in 1980. The College of Public and Community Services was terminated and the Department of Community Development was transferred to the College of Agriculture in 1988. Series Descriptions: This Record Sub-Group is divided by format and topic into four series derived from the original filing system. Series One contains publications. It is divided into a sub-series for faculty publications and a sub-series for department publications. Series Two contains administrative files including department correspondence, newsletters, committees on planning and evaluation, and budget. Series Three contains course materials including course syllabi, readings and assignments. Series Four contains community development surveys of towns in Missouri. Series Outline:
