Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group contains records produced for and by University of Missouri System-wide special committees. Special committees include task forces, ad hoc committees, and any committees that are created on a temporary basis and/or given a specific task to complete.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - UW:6/2/1 (A02-148)
This Series contains a report entitled, "Reduction of Academic Costs," (10/07/2002). This report is the product of the Task Force on Reduction of Academic Costs, a committee formed "to address current and future fiscal conditions." Task Force members include: Stephen Lehmkuhle, Brady Deaton, Joseph Martinich, Y. T. Shah, Ralph Wilkerson, Steve Ballard, Jerry Durham, Thomas Schnell, Max Skidmore, and Russ Zguta.

Series 2. - UW:6/2/2 (A03-03)
This Series contains records produced and collected by the University of Missouri Client Server Task Force, (1993-1995). Records in this Series consist of correspondence, reports (including the Task Force’s report to the University of Missouri Library Directors Committee, 1995), request for proposals, presentation materials (including transparencies), survey materials and pilot project evaluation documents. The Client Server Task Force was part of the UM Libraries Five-Year Integrated Technology Plan and was specifically charged with the development of a “strategy for implementation of client/server technology as a primary tool for the delivery of computerized citation and full-text information to UM faculty, students and staff."

Series 3. - UW:6/2/3
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Task Force on Ethics and Conflict of Interest, (1988). The records consist of a report produced by the Task Force entitled "Ethics and Conflict of Interest." Robert Popper was the chairman of the Task Force with Jack Heysinger, Samuel Werner, Leonard Riskin, and Gebe Ejigu serving as sub-committee chairmen. The remaining members of the Task Force were Harold E. Boyer, Carl H. Esbeck, Paul Munder, Robert L. Ross, Neil Smith, Wendell Smith, Diane Touliatos-Banker, James Tushaus, and Richard Wallace.

This Series contains records of the University of Missouri General Officers Strategic Planning Steering Committee, (2001-2002). The records consist of strategic plans for the University of Missouri System, the University of Missouri campuses, Univerity Outreach and Extension, System Finance and Administration, Information Systems, Human Resources, and other informational material.

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
