Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri President's subordinate Office of Financial Information Services. Included are correspondence, draft reports, committee meeting minutes, committee agendas, committee reports, Financial Accounting System (FAS) training records, operational needs reports, a Salary Wage Expense and Equipment Budget Information System (SWEEBIS) general design proposal, SWEEBIS microfiche data, SWEEBIS accounting interface records, SWEEBIS manuals, budget system development records, Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO) 1983 annual meeting records, National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) 1982-1983 annual meeting records.
Also included in the Sub-Group are salary rosters, Payroll Crossover Cards and Position and Employee print-outs, "Budget Instructions Project" records, computer billing statements, budget books, summary masters, operating budgets, activity calendars, University Financial and Administrative Systems (UFAS) training manuals, Financial Information Services Proposals (FISP), Financial Information Services achievement reports and goals, second bound volume of Reports and Letters to the Governor on Revenues Other Than State Appropriations, alphabetized UM-System Board of Curators project files, expense distribution reports, 1983 Operating Budget Fund Analysis (OBFA) BB-83.01 and BB-83.02 reports, bi-weekly Employee Position Reports, and an OBFA L-84.01G Modified Test Run Report.
Historical Note: The University of Missouri Office of Financial Information Services reported to the UM-System Vice President for Finance and Comptroller (later changed to Vice President for Finance and Treasurer) from 1970 through 1978. In 1979, the Office of Assistant Vice President for Financial Services was created and assumed administrative direction of the Office of Financial Information Services. In 1992, the UM-System Vice-President for Administrative Affairs was assigned responsibilities of the vacated position of Assistant Vice President for Financial Services. At the same time, 1992, administrative direction of the Office of Financial Information Services was delegated to the UM-System Controller's Office.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - UW:4/37/1 (A83-73)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Office of Financial Services pertaining to the UM-System University Resources Advisory Council (1974-1981). Included in this Series are correspondence, drafts of reports, committee meeting minutes, committee agendas, administrative records, and committee reports. Among the reports in this Series are the "Private Fund Raising Annual Report, 1980-1981," and a 1983 report entitled, "Creative Ways of Responding to Fiscal Stringency." Topics include budget planning, revenue projections, formation of the University Resources Advisory Council, thorough utilization of available revenue, reallocation of funds, salary and wage implementation guidelines, and a "Plan of Work" for the University Resources Advisory Council.
