These records pertain largely to negotiations with research funding agencies. Included in this Series are correspondence, reports, grant administration records, grant and contract statistical tables, copies of legislation, grant contracts, agreements and memoranda of understanding, vouchers, affirmative action compliance assurances, administrative subject files, news articles, computer print-outs, federal grant rules and regulations, copyright and patent records, federal audit records, budget materials, and records of cost sharing and indirect cost recovery. Topics include grant and contract difficulties, establishment of administrative prerogatives, foreign travel, management of on-going contracts and grants, grant accounting and reporting procedures, foundation grants, and university interests in regard to excess and surplus federal property. Included are correspondence, reports, grant administration records, vouchers, grant and contract statistical tables, copies of related government publications, grant contract agreements and memoranda of understanding, subject files, news articles, computer print-outs, and copies of federal grant rules and regulations. Topics in the correspondence include Office of Sponsored Program's activities in negotiating with funding agencies, grant accounting and reporting procedures, management of on-going contracts and grants, and establishment of UM administrative prerogatives. Included are correspondence, copies of legislation, grant contracts, agreements, memoranda of understanding, affirmative action compliance assurances, copyright and patent records, federal audit records, budget materials, cost sharing and indirect cost recovery materials, and records relating to UM-System interests in excess and surplus federal property. (3 c.f., 017340, 017341, 017342) Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
