Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri President's Office. Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence, UM-System Board of Curators meeting minutes, reports concerning the four UM-System campuses, interview transcripts, manuscript histories of the UM-System, and photographs and photographic negatives created or received by UM-System President James C. Olson. Also included are audiocassette tape recordings of interviews with staff and administrators who worked within the UM-System.
Note to Researcher: Some of the records in this Sub-Group cannot be used without the permission of President Olson. Ask the UMC Archives staff for further information concerning these restrictions.

This Series has been enlarged to a full inventory. Please follow this link to reach the inventory.This Series contains records created or received by UM-System President James C. Olson, (1984-1987). This Series contains cassette tape recordings and transcripts of interviews of persons within the University administrative offices. Phil Connell conducted and compiled this research for President Emeritus J. C. Olson's book on the history of UM 1936-1983.
Series 2. - UW:4/4/NP (2) (A89-52; A90-95)
This Series contains records created or received by UM-System President, James C. Olson, (1974-1989). Included in this Series are UM-System Board of Curators meeting minutes, and reports concerning the four UM-System campuses. Some of these reports were completed before President Olson's tenure.

Peter Magrath, Interim President Melvin George, renovation of historic buildings, Research Reactor, aging, Associated Students of the University of Missouri, Brice Ratchford (general correspondence and speeches), Congress, Phil Connell, Paul Keenan, Arts and Sciences, College of Education, UMC Chancellor, grants and contracts, Industrial Research and Extension, Agriculture, Graduate Education, Graduate Dean, Extension-Energy, and Tom Collins.

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
