This Series contains correspondence, memoranda, proposals, news releases, newspaper clippings, photographs, speeches, and meeting minutes created or received by University of Missouri President Emeritus Elmer Ellis, (1957-1967). Topics include the acquisition of the J. C. Penney Company warehouse in St. Louis Missouri and the establishment of the Tucker Prairie research area. Among the correspondence received by President Ellis are letters from United States Senator Stewart Symington and St. Louis Mayor Raymond R. Tucker.

This Series contains awards given to University of Missouri President Elmer Ellis and his wife, Ruth Ellis, (1954-1993). Some of the items pertain to periods before and after Ellis was President of the University of Missouri.
