Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group contains meeting minutes and related records of the University of Missouri Board of Curators. Included are Executive Committee meeting minutes, Building Committee meeting minutes, Executive Board meeting minutes, as well as meeting minutes of the full Board of Curators. Some of these meeting minutes are original holographic minutes in bound volumes but most are typed copies. Also included are financial records, examination registers, treasury reports, meeting agendas, and supporting papers.
Note to Researcher: The Board of Curators Secretary's Office retains most of the original bound volumes of meeting minutes at their office in University Hall. For tape recordings of the minutes of recent Board of Curators meetings, ask the University Archives about collection UW:4/142/4.
Series 1. - UW:2/1/2 (A75-33)
This Series contains records of the UM-System Board of Curators (1839-1932). Included are Board of Curators meeting minutes and Building Committee meeting minutes (some of which are hand written originals in bound volumes), Executive Board meeting minutes, as well as meeting minutes of the Executive Committee that addressed concerns relating to the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla. Also included are an alphabetized index to the Board of Curators meeting minutes (1839-1915), a register of semi-annual examinations (1840-1867) and students in attendance (1889-1891), and financial records of the Board of Curators (1892-1899).

Series 2. - UW:2/1/3 (A76-17)
This Series contains records of the UM-System Board of Curators (1839-1920). Included are 35mm microfilm negative copies of Board of Curators meeting minutes, Building Committee meeting minutes, Executive Board meeting minutes, and meeting minutes of the Executive Committee (the latter pertaining to the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla).

This Series contains records of the MU Board of Curators (1920-1980). Included are copies of Board of Curators meeting minutes and supporting documents on 134 rolls of 16mm microfilm.

This Series contains records of the MU Board of Curators (1964-1969). Included are mimeographed copies of Board of Curators meeting minutes and meeting agendas. This is an incomplete selection of meeting minutes, collected and organized by Raymond Peck, MU Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies.

This Series contains records of the MU Board of Curators (5/2/1986). Included are meeting minutes, witness transcripts, and supporting documents pertaining to a faculty appeal presented to the Board of Curators.

Series 6. - UW:2/1/6 (A00-88)
This Microfilmed Series contains the Permanent Records of the Board of Curators (1920-1971). The series consists entirely of typed and signed copies of the minutes of meetings of the full Board of Curators. Matters considered by the Board of Curators during these meetings ranged from personnel and legal issues to appropriations and construction of campus facilities.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
