This Series contains working files of the College of Engineering Advisory Council (1984-1991) and College of Engineering terminated faculty personnel files for the years 1981 through 1993.

This Series contains records from the Dean's Office of the College of Engineering, (1943-2000). The records consist of certificates and related correspondence received by Dean William Kimel during his professional career. The certificates come from such organizations as the State of Missouri Department of Economic Development, (1998, 2000), the Society of the Sigma Xi, (1955), the Governor of Kansas Nuclear Energy Advisory Council, (1964, 1967), and the University of Missouri College of Engineering Alumni Association. Also included in the Series are some color and black-and-white photographs of Kimel at various functions.

This Series contains administrative records and general correspondence from the Dean's Office of the College of Engineering, (1989-2002). Included in the administrative files are the following record types and topics: correspondence and memoranda to and from various departments in Engineering, including copies to the Dean of departmental correspondence; correspondence and memoranda regarding various University and University System offices and units, including University Affairs, the Board of Curators, University President George Russell, Campus Facilities, Campus Computing, and Governmental Affairs; committee meeting agendas and minutes for the various College departments; a Review of the Food Science and Engineering Unit, (1994); annual reports; newsletters; press clippings; and news releases. Some of the topics found in the correspondence files, (1994-1996), are the following: the Capsule Pipeline Research Center and its director Henry Liu; the American Conference of Academic Deans; alumni and alumni organization; faculty and alumni awards; freshmen programs; the Deans' Institute; Faculty Council; the Power Research Center; legislators; Particulate System research; the Missouri Corporation for Science and Technology; the Industrial and Technological Development Center; Surface Plasma Technology Center; video courses; and waste management. Also included in this Series are Promotion and Tenure files [RESTRICTED], (1990-1997), and personnel files of retired or terminated faculty [RESTRICTED], (1989-2002).

This Series contains administrative records created or received by the Office of the Dean of the College of Engineering, (1993). The records consist of self-study questionnaire reports for program review submitted to the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. The Series contains reports for the College of Engineering as well as the following departments: Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Also included are questionnaire reports for the following Kansas City programs: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Series 15. - C:9/1/12 (A11-20)
This Series contains records created or received by Howard Burton Shaw, Dean of Engineering, (1896, 1907-1911). The records consist of correspondence and miscellaneous documents regarding fire protection at the University of Missouri. Included among the records are a broadside entitled "The Organization of a Fire Brigade," (1896); lists of fire extinguishers found in the various campus buildings, a price list for pipes and hydrants located in various campus buildings, fire procedures, a report, recommendations, and minutes of the Committee on Fire Protection, and a General Order of the Missouri State Military School, (1911).

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
