Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group contains records created by the various Associate Deans in the College of Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Records found in this Sub-Group include correspondence, memoranda, graduation lists for undergraduate students in the College, Education Student Council records, and photographs.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:8/3/3 (A03-106)
This Series contains records from the Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Education, (1966-2000). The records consist of graduation lists [RESTRICTED] for undergraduates receiving Bachelor of Science in Education or Bachelor of Educational Studies degrees. The Series also contains correspondence and memoranda regarding the production of the graduation lists, including determination of honors, graduation hours, graduation dates, and proofs for commencement programs. Also included in the Series are a few photographs, mainly of College faculty and administrators at commencement ceremonies.

Series 2. - C:8/3/4 (A09-27)
This Series contains records received in the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Education at the University of Missouri, (1992-1993, 2002-2004). The records consist of accreditation review reports and self-studies, mostly for the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The Series also contains records [RESTRICTED] of the Teacher Development Program (TDP) and the MU Partnership for Educational Renewal (MPER), including instructor vitas and datasheets.

Series 3. - C:8/3/5 (A09-46)
This Series contains records of the Education Student Council in the College of Education, (1972-2006, bulk 1975-1985). The records consist of administrative [RESTRICTED] and other correspondence, budgets, election lists, Council meeting agendas and minutes, committee files, and newsletters and other printed and duplicated material.

Series 4. - C:8/3/6 (A09-47)
This Series contains records of the Honor Society in the College of Education, (1991-1995). The records consist of correspondence, membership lists [RESTRICTED], student organization annual reports, meeting minutes, newsletters, a survey on interest in the society, and an organizational constitution.

Note to Researcher: The College of Education Honor Society was formed for College of Education honors students to provide them with opportunities for involvement with the Columbia Public School System.
Series 5. - C:8/3/7 (A13-103)
This Series contains records of the Advising and Certification Services unit of the College of Education, (1992-2007). The records consist of course and other requirements for programs of study within the College's undergraduate teaching programs. The Series also includes advising brochures for the various programs.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
