Record Group: 6 C Scope and Content Note This Sub-Group holds records of the MU College of Arts and Science's Department of Chemistry. Included in this Series are minute books, correspondence, petitions, reports, departmental histories, grant files, and photographs of departmental faculty and facilities. Series Descriptions: Series 1. - C:6/17/1This Series contains records of the UMC Department of Chemistry (ca. 1910-1958). Included in this Series are correspondence files, a 1931 Petition for a Radium Institute, three minute books (which contain records of departmental committees), and a copy of History and Directory, Delta Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma, compiled by George W. Eckert (ca. 1937). Also included in the Series is a photocopy of Report by the Curators to the Governor (ca. 1874), which includes "Contributions from the Laboratory of the State University." (1 OSB, B3A, B2, 6) Series 2. - C:6/17/2 (A76-23) Series 3. - EMPTY Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released. |
