Scope and Content Note

This Record Sub-Group contains administrative and other records created by the Department of Food and Nutrition. The records include correspondence of the department chairperson, faculty annual or activity reports, faculty personnel files, and faculty meeting records.

Note to Archivist: The Department of Food and Nutrition has undergone a number of name changes. All administrative records for the department, regardless of the current name, can be added to this Sub-Group.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - C:5/4/3 (A99-53)
This Series contains Food Science and Human Nutrition correspondence, (1993, 1997), from the office of the department chairperson.

Series 2. - C:5/4/4 (A11-92; A19-47)
This Series contains administrative records of the Department of Nutritional Sciences, (1970, 1997-2010). The records consist of faculty meeting files [RESTRICTED], faculty activity and annual reports [RESTRICTED], retreats, seminar presenters, and some printed and duplicated material and photographs, including a large photograph taken by John Francis Westhoff of Mary McKee, (1957).

This Series contains administrative records of the College of Human Environmental Sciences' Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, (1996-2018). The records consist of faculty personnel files [RESTRICTED], including department copies of promotion and tenure dossiers and post-tenure review files, and annual faculty reviews [RESTRICTED], (2002-2006, 2010).

Series 4. - C:5/4/6 (A21-03)
This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the College of Human Environmental Sciences' Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, (1973-2002). The records consist of a variety of self-studies and reports, many for the Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Medical Dietetics. The Series also includes bound volumes of faculty publications (off-prints) for the years 1994-1998. A copy of Margaret Mangel's One Family's Story - A Twentienth Century Family In The Midwest, (2002), is also part of Series 4.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual.
