This Record Sub-Group contains administrative records and publications created by Project LIFE, including correspondence, contracts, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and photographs.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:4/16/1 (A07-96; A07-100)
This Series contains administrative records and publications created and received by Project LIFE, (1985-2007). The records consist of yearly grant contracts [RESTRICTED], correspondence, published booklets, author contracts, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and staff photographs.

Note to Researcher: Series 1 contains records which are confidential and restricted. See the restrictions note at the end of this finding aid. Project LIFE (Life Is For Everyone) -- now defunct -- was a cooperative program of the University of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Mental Health. The program was established circa 1982 and was initially located administratively in the Department of Recreation and Park Administration in the College of Public and Community Services (see C:16). It subsequently shifted into the School of Natural Resources's Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. The program later maintained affiliation with Unversity Extension.

Series 2. - C:4/16/2
This Series contains printed and duplicated material of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, (1989, 1997-2001). The printed and duplicated material consists of various volumes of Expanding Horizons in Therapeutic Recreation. The publication prints selected papers from the Midwest Symposium on Therapeutic Recreation.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
