Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources' Department of Poultry Husbandry. Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence files, administrative records, research project reports, proposals for legislation in the field of poultry husbandry, copies of faculty publications, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, Poultry Club records, photographs, Turkey Day profiles, Egg Day Profiles, poultry husbandry course materials, and 1/4-inch audio tape reels.

This Series contains records of the UMC Department of Poultry Husbandry, (1911-1995). Included in this Series are correspondence, departmental administrative records, research project reports, proposals for legislation in the field of poultry husbandry, copies of faculty publications, scrapbooks, and newspaper clippings. Much of the material in this Series relates to the career of Professor Emeritus and Chair of the Department of Poultry Husbandry, E. M. Funk. Also included in this Series is a copy of an unpublished autobiography by Professor Funk, entitled Ozark Farm Boy to University Professor Emeritus: An Autobiography (ca. 1980).

Series 2. - C:3/30/2 (A86-108)
This Series contains records of the UMC Department of Poultry Husbandry, (1912-1990). Included in this Series are black-and-white photographs of poultry husbandry classes in session; among them, the first such class taught at MU (1912). Also included in this Series are color photographs of events sponsored by the student Poultry Club, bound copies of articles, lectures, and talks given by Professor Harry L. Kempster between 1912 and 1922.

This Series contains records of the UMC Department of Poultry Husbandry, (1913-1961). Included in this Series are research project reports, copies of faculty publications, lab books, a list of graduates from 1913-1956, and Egg and Turkey Day Pamphlets. The Series also includes the publication The Extension Poultry Record Summary, (1947-1957).

Series 4. - C:3/30/4 (A07-86)
This Series contains records from faculty members in the Department of Poultry Husbandry, (1950-1985). The records consist of publication off-prints and presentation proceedings from Professor Harold V. Biellier, (1950-1985). The Series also includes the program for and 1/4-inch audio tape recording of the proceedings at a 1954 dinner held in honor of Professor Harry L. Kempster.

Note to Archivist: This material in this collection was donated by Harold V. Biellier. A digital transfer of the three tape reels has been made and is filed with the collection.
Series 5. - C:3/30/5 (A20-08)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Department of Poultry Husbandry, (1978). The records consist of one photographic portrait of E. M. Funk. The 16x20-inch portrait was presented by the UMC Poultry Science Club and is on canvas, mounted on cardboard.
Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
