Scope and Content Note

This Record Sub-Group contains administrative records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia University Hospital and Clinics Integrated Technology Services Office (ITS). Integrated Technology Services, under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of Health Care, works with both the University Hospital and Clinics and the School of Medicine.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - C:23/17/NP (A01-75)
This Series contains administrative records of the Genetic Automated Office System (GAOS) created by the University of Missouri-Columbia University Hospital and Clinics Integrated Technology Services Office (ITS), (1988-1996). GAOS is a computerized system permitting the submission and exchange of data between the Missouri Genetic Disease Program and each of the four tertiary genetic centers. The records consists of correspondence, minutes, and reports. Topics include data field and vocabulary development.

This Series contains records of the MU University Hospital and Clinics' Integrated Technology Services Office (ITS), (1994-1999). Materials in this Series relate to the following: Clinical Outcome Review Committee, (1994-1998); Computing Committee; Curriculum Committee; Electronic HealthCare Records Strategy Group and Committee, (1995-1996); Executive Committee of the Medical Staff, (1995); Information Services Steering Committee, (1995-1997); Competing Project Small Group, (1998-1999); PCC Online Sub-Committee; Standing Committees; Computer Learning Lab; TeleMedicine Committee; Outcomes Committee; Fiberoptic Network; Academic Computing Committee; Cooperative Project in conjunction with such institutions as Yale University and National Library of Medicine; consultants, individuals, companies; External Advisory Board, (1995-1998); retreats; and meetings.

The records include meeting and planning materials, correspondence, quality reports, and database structures regarding the Missouri Genetic Information System (MOGIS) and the Genetic Automated System (GAOS). Also included in the Series are records from the Missouri Genetic Disease Program (MGDP).

This Series contains records created or received by Integrated Technology Services of the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics, (1990-1999). The records consist of administrative records regarding the Medical Informatics Group, including its merger with Biostatistics, (1990), the PhD program in informatics, and various consulting files. The records also include committee files: a Department Review Committee for the Center for Medical Information Sciences, Patient-Centered Care Online (PCCO) Online Management and System Implementation Group (SIG) meetings, (1999), and the Project Executive Leadership Committee, (1997-1998). The Series also contains reports and miscellaneous files: Health Services Management Faculty biographical files (taken from the departmental web pages), lectures and research seminar material, including Dr. Rosebush's Computer Animation lecture, (1991), and a Provost Annual Report.

The majority of the records pertain to Patient-Centered Care Online (PCCO) and its various projects, including: agendas, action items, supplemental materials, and notes from Patient Centered Care Online Management Group Meetings, (1998); correspondence of its Small Group - Competing Projects Priority Subcommittee, (1/1998); and agendas and minutes of the Operations Group Subcommittee, (1999). Other records consist of the following types and topics: ITS Status Reports, (2000); Quarterly Staff Meeting, (2000); Financial Systems Meeting, (1999); Cerner & IDX Systems meeting, (1999); campus correspondence; and quarterly financial reviews.

The majority of records in this Series originated with Joyce A. Mitchell.

This Series contains printed and duplicated material produced by Integrated Technology Services of the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics, (1994-2000). The material consists of copies of the newsletter Infosphere. Series 7 also contains an explanatory memorandum about the role of the Missouri Integrated Advanced Information Management System's (MIAIMS) in the newletter and a Infosphere reader survey form.

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
