Included in this Series are records, materials, and minutes pertaining to: House Staff Committee, (1987-1996); graduate and medical programs at the Health Sciences Center; veterans; accreditation council for graduate medical education, (1988-1996); various training manuals, including House Staff Manuals, House Officers Manuals, and an Infective Control Manual; and the Approved Residency Fellowship Program. Also part of this Series are records regarding the following: Dean's Task Force on Graduate Medical Education, (1995-1997); reports, correspondence, handouts, and minutes of the Patient Centered Care Online (PCCO) Committee, (1997-1998); Resident Orientations correspondence; New Resident schedules; and New Resident Orientation vhs video tapes.

Note to Researchers: The House Staff Committee is charged with the responsibility for overseeing graduate medical education programs at the Health Sciences Center, including the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veteran's Medical Center. Members are appointed by the Dean, School of Medicine, and the committee is chaired by the Associate Dean for Medical Education. Representation is based upon requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The committee must consist of residency program directors from the "major" residency training programs, faculty who are not program directors, administrators from the hospitals involved in GME, and at least four resident physicians.

Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
