Scope and Content Note:

This Record Sub-Group contains administrative records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia University Hospitals and Clinics Clinical Information Services Department. Divisions within the Clinical Information Services department include the office of the Chief of Staff, Risk Management, Residency Programs, and, until 2001, Graduate Medical Education Accreditation. Administrative records contained herein include reviews and supporting documentation; correspondence; and committee minutes, by-laws, and regulations.

This Series contains committee records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia University Hospital and Clinics' Clinical Information Services Department, (1990-1991). The records consist of House Staff Committee minutes, by-laws, regulations, and correspondence.

This Series contains records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia University Hospitals and Clinics then Associate Dean for Student Affairs and later as Associate Dean for Medical Education Ted Groshong, (1990-1995). The records include minutes and correspondence of the Task Force on Residency Allocations, (1989-1991); documentation supporting the accreditation reviews compiled by individual department, (1991); the Institutional Policy Review Document of the Accreditation Council for Graduate School Medical Education, (ca. 1990); records dealing with the 1991 review of the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical Education program, (1988-1991); and organizational records of the Dean's Task Force on Graduate Medical Education (GME), (1995-1996).

This Series contains records created by the University of Missouri-Columbia University Hospital and Clinics' Clinical Information Services Department, (1984-1999). Included in this Series are records, materials, and minutes pertaining to: House Staff Committee, (1987-1996); graduate and medical programs at the Health Sciences Center; veterans; accreditation council for graduate medical education, (1988-1996); various training manuals, including House Staff Manuals, House Officers Manuals, and an Infective Control Manual; and the Approved Residency Fellowship Program. Also part of this Series are records regarding the following: Dean's Task Force on Graduate Medical Education, (1995-1997); reports, correspondence, handouts, and minutes of the Patient Centered Care Online (PCCO) Committee, (1997-1998); Resident Orientations correspondence; New Resident schedules; and New Resident Orientation vhs video tapes.

Note to Researchers: The House Staff Committee is charged with the responsibility for overseeing graduate medical education programs at the Health Sciences Center, including the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veteran's Medical Center. Members are appointed by the Dean, School of Medicine, and the committee is chaired by the Associate Dean for Medical Education. Representation is based upon requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The committee must consist of residency program directors from the "major" residency training programs, faculty who are not program directors, administrators from the hospitals involved in GME, and at least four resident physicians.

This Series contains administrative records created and received by the Clinical Information Services Department's Office of Chief of Staff, (1996-1999). Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
