This Record Sub-Group contains materials pertaining to the history of the University of Missouri-Columbia Museum of Art and Archaeology. Contents of the Sub-Group include general correspondence as well as correspondence regarding the initial museum facility in Jesse Hall and its relocation to Pickard Hall. Also included in this Sub-Group are records relating to loaned and borrowed museum materials, museum relations with art and artifact dealers, publicity, past museum exhibitions, and museum tour and docent logs. Additionally included in this Sub-Group are business records relating to the production of volumes one through eighteen of the Museum of Art and Archaeology's annual publication, Muse, as well as photographs and maps used in Muse articles.

Note to Archivist: Box 3 (Records Center location 034220) and Box 4 (Records Center location 034221) of this Sub-Group were permanently recalled from University Archives in May 1999 by the Museum of Art and Archaeology
