Scope and Content Note

This Sub-Group contains records of the MU College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence files, faculty publications, letters of recommendation for students, applications for Missouri Veterinary license, conference papers, research project proposals, article reprints, service reports, and vita for academic personnel and some staff. Also included are faculty files for terminated faculty, (1969-2011).

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - C:17/8/1 (A83-61; A85-94)
This Series holds records of the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. These records were created during the tenures of department Chairs E. A. Corley (1972-1974) and Charles E. Martin (1974-1980). Included are correspondence files relating to examinations of animals, referrals, surgery performed, radiographs, breeding soundness, equipment and drugs, faculty publications, letters of recommendation for students, applications for Missouri Veterinary license, conference papers, research projects, the "Orthopedic Foundation for Animals Incorporated", the Dysplasia Control Registry, and Middlebush Farm Equine Center. Also included in Series One are article reprints, service reports, and vita for academic personnel and some staff.

Series 2. - C:17/8/5 (A17-21)
This Series contains terminated faculty files for the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in the University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine, (1969-2011). The files [RESTRICTED] include offers of employment, annual activity updates, performance reviews, and other materials. A few of the files contain photographs of the faculty members.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
