(5 c.f., 013369, 013435, 013446, 013447, 049694; OSF, Ellis)
Note to Researcher: Dr. McClure served as President of the Board of Directors of the University Club and, in that role, collected a range of records pertaining to the Club that are included in Series 1.
Robert C. McClure was born in Grinnell, Iowa, in 1932. He did pre-veterinary course work at Grinnell College before receiving a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Anatomy from Iowa State University in 1956. McClure earned a Ph.D. in Veterinary Anatomy, Physiology, and Surgery in 1960 from Cornell University. McClure became Professor of Veterinary Anatomy at the University of Missouri in the summer of 1960, serving as the department chairman until 1969. He served as department chairman again, though on an interim basis, from 1981 until 1983. His titled was changed to Professor of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences in 1985, and he remained in that department until his retirement from the University in 2000 when he was distinguished as Emeritus Professor. McClure was much involved with the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, being elected to membership in 1959 and becoming a charter member and the first president of the its University of Missouri chapter in 1972. From 1986-1992, he served as the honorary's south-central region vice-president. He also gave his time to Phi Zeta, the Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine, serving as its national president from 2007 until 2009. McClure died in Columbia, Missouri, in May of 2017.

Series 2. - C:17/7/2 (A25-27)
This Series contains professional papers of Professor of Veterinary Anatomy Gheorghe M. Constantinescu, (1985-2023). The records consist of original and, in a few instances, reproductions of original veterinary anatomical illustrations created by Constantinescu for use in a variety of publications and presentations. The illustrations are typically in pencil or watercolor or a combination thereof.
(6 1/2 c.f.: 4 1/2 c.f., 8 OSB, Ellis; 2 c.f., Ellis)
Note to Researcher: Some of the illustrations are filed with copies of the articles for which they were created. Illustrations for the two editions of Clinical Dissection Guide for Large Animals have been filed together in Constantinescu's original order (mostly in figure number sequence) as he seems to have worked from the first edition to create the second. The majority of illustrations for Clinical Dissection Guide for Large Animals include overlays for identification of anatomical detail and mark-up for the publisher/printer's camera.
Gheorghe Mircea Constantinescu was born in Bucharest, Romania, in 1932. He received a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1955 and a Ph.D. in 1964 from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest. Constantinescu held numerous research and faculty positions in Romania before becoming Associate Professor in Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology in 1984 at the University of Missouri. His titled was changed to Associate Professor of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences in 1985 and to Professor of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences in 1992. Constantinescu retired from full-time employment at the University of Missouri in 2014, at which time he was honored with the title of Emeritus Professor. He received numerous honorary degrees, including ones from the University of Agricultural Sciences of Banat in Timisoara, Romania, the University of Agronomical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest, Romania, and the Ovidius University of Constanta, Romania. Constantinescu died in Missouri in November of 2025.
