This former Series contains files generated by the Office of the Dean of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Social and Community Services. The bulk of these records pertain to Dean Arthur W. Nebel, though some materials pre-date his tenure, (1923-1972).

Series Two contains office files of Dean Arthur W. Nebel pertaining to professional organizations and public programs (1923-1960). Included in this Series are correspondence, reports, newsletters, bulletins, meeting minutes and brochures from the American Association of Schools of Social Work (AASW), with particular attention to the local Missouri AASW chapters, the Missouri Association for Social Welfare and the American Association of Social Workers. Information regarding the Federal Security Agency Social Security Administration Bureau of Public Assistance policy changes, publications lists, personnel reports, summaries and analysis of legislation and statistics of public assistance are also included.
