Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence files and records pertaining to budgetary matters, book projects, visiting faculty, professional conferences, course offerings, and the "Picture of the Year Contest." Series Descriptions: Series 1. - C:11/8/1 (A98-32; A04-81; A11-121) This Series holds partial administrative files of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism's Photojournalism Department, (1949-1995, bulk 1986-1992). Included in the Series are correspondence files and records pertaining to budgetary matters, book projects, visiting faculty, professional conferences, course offerings, and the "Picture of the Year Contest." Also included in the Series are transcripts of interviews with Professor Clifton C. Edom, founder of the photojournalism program at MU, and CD-ROMs created for the 52nd Annual Picture of the Year Contest, (ca. 1995) and the 59th Annual Picture of the Year International Contest, (ca. 2003). (1/3 c.f., UMLD1) Series 2. - C:11/8/2 (A11-37; A13-75) This Series contains administrative records created and received by the Photojournalism Department in the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri, (1983-2005, bulk 1998-2004). The records consist of the following types and topics: Missouri Photo Workshop, (1998, 2004) [RESTRICTED], including applications, consent forms, and evaluations; Picture of the Year, (1999-2005) [RESTRICTED], including contracts and exhibit schedules; College Photographer of the Year, (1999), and various Reuters fellowships, (1992-1999). Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
