Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group contains administrative and research records originating from the MU Office of Student Life Studies. This Sub-Group contains correspondence and analyses.
Historical Note:
At one time the Office of Student Life Studies reported to the Provost. In 2001, this office was transferred under the Office of Institutional Research. The Director of Student Life Studies reports to the Director of the UMC Office of Institutional Research.

Series 1 - C:1/35/1 (A02-53)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of
Student Life Studies (1996). Included in this Series is A-W correspondence for
the Division of Student Affairs and analyses of studies and
surveys conducted by Student Affairs.

Series 2. - C:1/35/2 (A05-02)
This Series contains records of the Office of Student Life Studies, (1987-1999, bulk 1997-1998). The majority of the records were created or received by Li Guihua. The records consist for the most part of correspondence and memoranda, research files, and statistical analyses. Among the topics of the records are: Freshmen Interest Groups, academic retention, focus groups, Summer Welcome, enrollment management, financial aid, residential life, student affairs, and assessment for various campus offices.

This Series contains records of the Office of Student Life Studies, (1999-2001). The records were created or received by Timothy Killian and consist for the most part of research files, surveys, and statistical analyses. Among the topics of the records are: the College Student Experience Questionaire; applications, enrollment, and scholarships; the College Outcome Survey; and the MU Senior Survey.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
