This Sub-Group contains administrative and historical records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Alumni Association.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:0/3/NP (A98-72; A00-31)
This Series contains administrative records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Alumni Association, (1972-1994). Included in this Series are Development Council information, correspondence files, Executive Committee meeting reports, agendas, minutes and packets, insurance program information, audit materials, placement and career planning materials, campaign and donor materials, Legion of Black Collegians materials, Black Alumni Organization records, Division and Director meeting reports.

Series 2. - C:0/3/17 (A02-159)
This Series contains records created by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1955-1972). The records consist of blank copies of certificates used for the various honors and awards conferred by the Alumni Association. The Series also contains lists of honors and award winners as well as the criteria for the awards. Some of the awards found in the Series are the Distinguished Service Award, the Citation of Merit and the Alumni Association Honorary Membership Award.

Series 3. - C:0/3/22 (A03-102)
This Series contains records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1979). The Series consists of responses to a survey undertaken by the Alumnae Anniversary Fund Committee. The survey was a follow-up to a 1968 survey of 100 alumnae and 100 students that was done as part of the centennial anniversary of the matriculation of women at the University of Missouri. The survey responses give educational and professional information voluntarily provided by the individuals contacted.

Series 4. - C:0/3/23 (A06-34)
This Series contains records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1965-2004, bulk 1985-1995). The majority of the records in this Series are administrative, including meeting minutes, rosters, and agendas for Alumni Association committees, both of the Alumni Association itself and of the alumni associations of individual MU schools and colleges. Also included among the records are correspondence, memoranda, budget files, by-laws, newsletters and other publications related to these school- or college-level alumni associations. The Series also contains photographs and a scrapbook pertaining to Homecoming, (1993-2004).

Series 5. - C:0/3/24 (A06-63; A12-11)
This Series contains administrative records created by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (ca. 1939-1998, bulk 1985-1995). The records pertain to various administrative aspects and organized events surrounding Homecoming, including the Steering Committee, publicity, Homecoming King and Queen, blood donation drives, decorations, parades, sponsors, and finances. The Series also contains numerous press releases for Homecoming as well as photographs of Homecoming kings, queens, and committee members. A number of Homecoming Rulebooks, football programs, and related newspaper clippings also form part of this Series. Also included in Series 5 is a large-scale, three-part timeline used in conjunction with the 100th Homecoming Celebration, (2011).

This Series contains administrative and historical records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1978-2007). The records consist of the following types and topics: correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, forms, the Legislative Information Network Committee, the Black Alumni Organization, scholars programs [RESTRICTED], alumni seminars, alumni events, Alumni Association's 150th Anniversary files and memorabilia, homecoming manuals and photographs, membership directories, autographed basketball memorabilia, and promotional and development videos.

This Series contains administrative records of the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (ca. 1976-2004). The records consist of correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, reports, directories, and publications concerning the following: regional alumni chapters, Alumni Association campus administrative units, the Alumni Center Management Committee, the Rules Committee, and Faculty-Alumni Awards.

This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (ca. 1960-2008). The records consist of meeting minutes, correspondence, reports, printed and duplicated and other promotional material. The records pertain to regional alumni chapters, Alumni Association campus administrative units, the Rules Committee, Tourin' Tigers, alumni travel and events, reunions, and membership directories. This Series also contains a few photographs and two MU Athletics-related video tapes.

This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri, (1931-1986, bulk 1965-1975). The records consist mostly of correspondence, memoranda, and meeting files. The Series also includes membership correspondence and surveys as well as records for the Management Systems Department and for Student Foundation events such as "Arm Wrestling," "Bike Race," and "Kiss Off".

This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri, (1947-1956, 1980-2009). The records consist of chapter meeting minutes and agendas, rosters, event flyers, and bylaws as well as meeting minutes and agendas for the various school and college alumni organizations. The Series also includes images and videos pertaining, among others, to the following topics: Geyer Award, Forever Mizzou, Homecoming, Leaders Training Day, True Tigers, Class Ring Ceremonies, and Alumni Association travel.

This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by J. Edward Travis, III, (1980-1994). The records consist of miscellaneous correspondence and memoranda from the period Travis was the President of the MU Alumni Association, (1989-1992); an MU Alumni Association Alumni Athletic Standing Committee report, (1987-1988); meeting minutes, ticket policies, membership lists, and memoranda of the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Committee, (1980-1986); and records pertaining to the Reynolds Alumni Center project, (1987-1989).

Note to Researcher: The records in this Series were received from the Alumni Association. J. Edward Travis served as President of the MU Alumni Association, as Chairman of the Alumni Athletic Committee, and was an alumni member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Committee.

Series 12. - C:0/3/33 (A14-96)
This Series contains committee records of the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri, (2002, 2008-2014). The records consist of meeting minutes of the Communications Committee, (2008-2014), a standing committee of the MU Alumni Association established in 1968 with the charge to direct the policies and management of Mizzou magazine. The Series also contains the guidelines for the Communications Committee, (2002), as well as the By-Laws of the University of Missouri Alumni Association, (2008).

Series 13. - C:0/3/34 (A18-19)
This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the Alumni Association's Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications, (2013-2015). The records pertain to the development and construction of the Traditions Plaza on the South or Carnahan Quadrangle. The records include marketing and design files, printed and duplicated material, images, budget, and a bid construction set for the project. The records came from the desk of David Roloff.

Series 14. - C:0/3/35 (A21-18)
This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the University of Missouri Alumni Association, (ca. 1981-2010). The records, including some photographs, pertain to various football bowl events surrounding the 1981 Tangerine Bowl, the 1983 Holiday Bowl, the 1998 Insight Bowl, the 2006 Sun Bowl, and the 2010 Insight Bowl. Series 14 also contains a number of MU campus building photographs.

This Series contains printed and duplicated publicity material created by the Alumni Association. The material in Series 15 consists of three window decals, each with "Missouri Alumni" and depicting the seal of the University.

Series 16. - C:0/3/37 (A23-52)
This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the University of Missouri Alumni Association and its secretary and recorder, (1914-1935, bulk 1920-1930). The records include financial statements, vouchers, receipts, bills, meeting minutes for the Association and for the Missouri Alumnus, correspondence, senior class histories, photographs, commencement, and newspaper clippings.

Series 17. - C:0/3/38 (A23-76)
This Series contains a vistor or guest register from the University of Missouri Alumni Association, (1948-1961). The register collected names, addresses, and, in some cases, graduation class years. In some instances, the register indicates specific events such as Homecoming or reunions.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
