Included are reports of UM-System income and expenditures, Accounting Services reference manuals, "I.A.I. Accounting System" reference manuals, transcripts and other records of the proceedings of bond discussions held and voted on by the Board of Curators, records of financial audits of various projects (such as the UM-System Research Reactor), records of claims filed by the UM-System against the government of Iran, Board of Curators gift reports, property sale, purchase, and lease records with the University Development Foundation (UDF), arbitrage files, and records regarding the development and operation of the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Harry Truman Properties (Independence Residence Center). Series Descriptions: Series 1. - UW:4/38/1 (A80-60) This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Office of Accounting Services (1915-1959). Included in this Series are copies of UM-System income and expenditures reports submitted (as directed by Act of Congress) to the United States Interior Department and Bureau of Education. (1/3 c.f., UMLD1) Series 2. - UW:4/38/2 (A92-15) This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Office of Accounting Services (1979-1982). Included in the Series are University of Missouri Accounts Payable System user manuals, UM-System Accounting Services manuals, reports, and related documents. Also included are computing program reference manuals produced by "I.A.I. Financial Accounting Systems" (an independent accounting company whose services were retained by the UM-System administration). (1 c.f., 103102) Series 3 - UW:4/38/NP (A94-11) This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Office of Accounting Services (1981-1988). Included in this Series are records of financial audits of various projects (such as the UM-System Research Reactor), records of claims filed by the University of Missouri against the government of Iran for unpaid costs of services provided to Iranian students, UM-System operating and budget reports, and records of gifts received by the UM-System Board of Curators from private sources. Series 4 - UW:4/38/NP (A95-44) This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Office of Accounting Services (1948-1971). Included in the Series are transcripts and other records of the proceedings of bond discussions held and voted on by the Board of Curators. Among these bond decisions are those which financed construction projects such as student dormitories (at all four UM-System campuses), the University of Missouri-St. Louis Education Building, the University of Missouri-Rolla Student Union Building, and the University of Missouri-Columbia natatorium, gymnasium, and Hearnes Multi-Purpose Building. Also included in the Series are records of a UM-System bond resolution to refinance and assume an existing bond obligation of the University of Kansas City, at the time (1963) that institution became a campus of the UM-System. Series 5 - UW:4/38/NP (A96-30; A00-83) This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Office of Accounting Services (1987-1993). Included in Series 5 are property sale, purchase, and lease records of the University Development Foundation (UDF). These files pertain, specifically, to the acquisition of property for a proposed UM-System President's Residence, student dormitories, broadcast facilities, and parking lots for the various campuses. Also included in the Series are records regarding the development and operation of the University of Missouri-Kansas City's "Harry Truman Properties" (the Independence Residence Center). Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
