Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group contains publicity and news media information created by University Relations' Cooperative Media Group (and its predecessors). The records consist of audio, video, and photographic materials.
Note to Archivist: The Cooperative Media Group falls under the administration of University of Missouri Extension. They provided audio-visual support to Unversity Relations for Board of Curator meetings for a number of years.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - UW:4/141/28 (A10-02; A11-119; A13-96; A13-101)
This Series contains records created and received by the Cooperative Media Group and its predecessors, (1970-2005). The records consist of the following types and topics: audio tapes; video tapes; film; photographic prints and slides; promotional films; news clips; interviews or press conferences with University of Missouri presidents Elson Floyd, George Russell, Manuel Pacheco, Peter Magrath, and University of Missouri chancellors Charles Kiesler, Richard Wallace, and Brady Deaton; tuition forums; College of Veterinary Medicine; School of Nursing anniversary; University of Western Cape exchange program; Missouri 100 meetings; and public service announcements. The Series also contains audio and video records pertaining to Elson Floyd, Carmento Floyd, and Ricky Clemons [RESTRICTED].

Note to Archivist: The box lists for this Series are available online. They can be accessed by following this link. Media formats included in this Series include 16mm, U-matic, Betacam, DigiBeta, DVCPro, DVcam, VHS, 1/4" audio, wav, mp3, and mpeg). Many of the U-matic tapes have been transferred to a digital format.

This Series contains records received by the Cooperative Media Group, (2010-2012). The records consist of electronic slide presentations, digital photographs, and other documents pertaining to Board of Curator meetings.

This Series contains records created and received by the Cooperative Media Group and by University Relation's Digital Communications, (2011-). The records consist of video files pertaining to Board of Curator meetings. Some of the video includes footage while some only incorporates audio with presentation slides.

Series 5. - UW:4/141/36
This Series contains records created and received by University Relations' Digital Communications unit, (2011-2012). The records consist of video and audio recordings used for informational pieces by the Digital Communications unit, including a number of Advancing Missouri segments which focus on the impact on Missouri of the educational opportunities of the institutions of the University of Missouri. Topics found in Series 5 are: University of Missouri's impact in St. Joseph (Buchanan County) and southeast Missouri (Bootheel); MU School of Medicine Springfield Clinical Campus announcement, (2012); Board of Curators meeting and press conference, (2012); interview with University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe on KRFU, (April 9th, 2012); video message from Tim Wolfe, (February 15th, 2012); Stefan Sarafianos' work with polymerase and foot-and-mouth disease; collaboration between Michael Nichols and Alexei Demchenko on blocking CD14 receptors from E. coli fragments; Missouri University of Science and Technology's (MS&T) Engineers Without Borders; MS&T's Delbert Day; University of Missouri-Kansas City's (UMKC) Kun Cheng; MU Research Reactor's production of radioactive gold nano particles; UMKC's Reza Derakhshani's work with biometrics; and MS&T's Yinfa Ma.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
