Record Group: 7 C Scope and Content Note This Record Sub-Group contains administrative records created by the Financial Research Institute (FRI). The records consist of annual reports, symposium planning records, committee and board meeting records, and correspondence. Historical Note: Established in 1988, the Financial Research Institute is one of the outreach programs associated with the College of Business at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The Financial Research Institute, which is funded through private contributions, sees its mission as the promotion of "education, research and service across various areas of finance." One aspect of this mission is the Institute's annual public utilities symposium within its Public Utilities Division. Additional information on the Institute is available from the Financial Research Institute's website. Series Descriptions: Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released. |
