Scope and Content Note

This Record Sub-Group contains administrative and other records created by the Special Collections Division in Ellis Library, University of Missouri-Columbia.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - C:20/8/4 (A04-121)
This Series contains records created and received by the Special Collections Division, Ellis Library, (1974-1999). The records consist of outgoing and incoming correspondence of the Division Head, including correspondence and memoranda to and from library and division staff.

Series 2. - C:20/8/5 (A04-121)
This Series contains administrative records created and received by the Special Collections Division, Ellis Library, (1980-2004). The records consist of the following types and topics: Program Review, (1984); and library space planning files, including correspondence, memoranda, floor plans, strategic plans, needs assessments, consultant reports, (1998), and supplementary materials regarding the Library Space Committee and the Ellis Library Addition Phase II Program Committee, (1980-1988).

Series 3. - C:20/8/12 (A22-31)
This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the Special Collections Division of University Libraries, (ca. 1984-1988, 1998-1999). The majority of the records consist of faculty publications lists, miscellaneous printed and duplicated material, and a few faculty curriculum vitae from various campus academic and other units. This material was initially solicited from campus units under the direction of Library Director Tom Shaughnessy and managed by the Head of Special Collections Margaret Howell. Series 3 also contains records of the Preservation Planning Program self study led by Howell, (1984-1986), and guides to the works of University of Missouri professors of English Sherod Santos, (ca. 1998), and Lynne McMahon, (ca. 1999).
