Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group holds records of the MU College of Veterinary Medicine's Veterinary Pathology Department (1899-1985). Included in this Sub-Group are faculty publications, veterinary pathology fund ledgers, photographs, course materials, and graduate student files. Additionally included within this Sub-Group are records pertaining to the Agricultural Experiment Station, Space Science Research Center, and Swine Enteritis Regional Investigative Group. This Sub-Group also contains meeting minutes and related memoranda for the Biological Sciences Sector of the Graduate Faculty Senate.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:17/10/1
This Series contains photographs and negatives (some glass plate) of the activities of the UMC College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Veterinary Pathology (ca. 1899-1941). Subjects include in this Series are photographs of the making of hog cholera vaccine, the Department's classrooms and facilities, pigs and cattle suffering from various diseases, and diseased organs of animals. Also included in the Series are ledger books for several veterinary pathology funds (ca. 1915-1941).

Series 2. - C:17/10/2 (A82-61)
This Series holds published works by UMC Professor of Veterinary Pathology, Harry H. Berrier (ca. 1948-1981). Included in the Series are journal articles and six book-length works, Animal Sanitation and Disease Prevention) by Professor Berrier, as well as correspondence, newspaper clippings, and documents relating to his patents for "Show-Me Barbecue Sauce" and a Small Animal Speculum.

Series 3. - C:17/10/NP (A96-92)
This Series contains a portion of the personal papers of UMC Professor Emeritus of Veterinary Pathology, Larry Morehouse (1964-1985). Included in this Series are Morehouse's course materials, graduate student files, and records regarding the Agricultural Experiment Station, Space Science Research Center, and Swine Enteritis Regional Investigative Group.

Series 4. - C:17/10/3 (A12-29; A12-101)
This Series contains records created or received by Donald A. Schmidt, faculty member in the Veterinary Pathology Department of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, (1970-1974). The records consist of meeting minutes, meeting notices and agendas, memoranda, correspondence, and informational material all related to the Biological Sciences Sector of the Graduate Faculty Senate. Some of memoranda are specific to the Veterinary Pathology Department. The Series also contains a Laboratory Procedures Manual for Veterinary Clinical Pathology written by Schmidt.

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
