This Record Sub-Group contains materials disseminated by or created for the School of Nursing. This Sub-Group contains a recruitment film
for the MU Nursing School that reflects the life-style of the Student Nurse in the mid-50's.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:15/00/1 (A00-23)
This Series consists of one film. Nursing, MU Style, produced by F. Kuffel, Jr., (1958) The film is a recruitment tool designed to illustrate both the academic and social aspects of the University of Missouri-Columbia nursing program. This short, black-and-white 16mm film was written and directed by Mary Ann van Wooren and features Ms. Jill Wimp, as narrator and graduate nurse, guiding Ms. Juanita Windsor, the novice student nurse, through the various aspects of life as a student nurse. Shot on location, this film features footage of the MU campus, including a dormitory, classrooms, laboratory, library, and the bookstore. Also includes in the film footage is a formal initiation ceremony and shots of minority student nurses. This film was made under the auspices of Dean Roscoe L. Pullen, M.D., School of Medicine, and Dean Ruby Potter, School of Nursing.
