This Series holds records that document the professional career of University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine Pharmacology Professor B. A. Westfall. Included in the Series are correspondence files, memoranda, minutes of Department of Pharmacology staff meetings, minutes of committee meetings, printed and mimeographed reports, reprints of journal articles, notes and work papers, copies of speeches, research grant applications, and lecture notes. Topics in this Series include class room and laboratory space assignments, administration of hazardous drugs, audio-visual teaching aids, job applicants and letters of recommendation, use of computers for medical research, text book choices, student grades, financial aid for graduate medical students, Pharmacology Department faculty by-laws, an honor code for medical students, Missouri State Board examinations, the medical journalism program, departmental budgets, committee assignments for teaching staff, and group medical insurance plans.

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
