This Series contains printed and duplicated materials created by the University Police Department, (1950-), including Campus Crime Report Yearly Statistics, Traffic Regulations, University Crime Watch, Campus Safety and Crime Report, Campus Crime and Fire Safety Report, and annual reports.

Series 2. - C:1/27/5 (A09-57; A12-73; A13-88; A14-79)
This Series contains media releases and Clery releases from the University of Missouri Police Department, (1999-2009). The Clery releases, (2001-2007), comply with the "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act" [Higher Education Act; 20 USC 1092 (f)] which require universities to disclose timely information about campus crime. The media releases, (1999-2009), detail activities, statistics, and other news-worthy information regarding the MU Police Department.

This Series contains records created by the University of Missouri Police Department, (2000-2011). The records consist of out-dated policies for the Department's official Policy and Procedure Manual.

Note to Researcher: The policies are filed by their printed creation or revision date rather than by the date they were superseded which is given as a hand-written date on each policy.
Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
