Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence, Campus Alert Network (C.A.N.) records, staff meeting files, reports, and Special Event staffing records. Series Descriptions: Series 1. - C:1/27/NP (A90-44) This Series contains administrative and general correspondence generated by the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of University Police, (1984). (2 c.f., 008785, 008786) Note to Researcher: Series 1 is currently unprocessed. Until completely processed and inventoried portions may not be fully available to researchers. Series 2. - C:1/27/NP (A01-72) This Series contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of University Police Campus Alert Network (C.A.N.) program, (1992-1997). The records in this Series consist of memoranda, phone network lists, and campus crime reports. (1/3 c.f., UMLD1) Note to Researcher: The C.A.N. program was devised and instituted by Sergeant Frank Brown to both promote crime awareness on campus and to quickly notify employees of suspected criminal activity. The program was voluntary and initially operated primarily by means of an intricate phone network system. Series 3. - C:1/27/3 (A08-89) This Series contains administrative records created and received by the University of Missouri Police Department, (2003-2004). The records consist of memoranda, forms, reports, and information sheets regarding police officer staffing for campus special events. (1/6 c.f., UMLD1) Series 4. - C:1/27/4 (A09-11; A10-60; A11-75; A12-72; A13-61; A17-05; A19-19; A21-14) This Series contains records created and received by the University of Missouri Police Department, (2000-2018). The records consist of Command Staff meeting agendas and notes, (2001-2016), department contracts, (2000-2005), monthly reports, (2004-2005, 2007-2018), and annual reports (2010-2018). Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
