Scope and Content Note

This Sub-Group contains administrative and program records generated by the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of University Police. Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence, Campus Alert Network (C.A.N.) records, staff meeting files, reports, and Special Event staffing records.

Series 1. - C:1/27/NP (A90-44)
This Series contains administrative and general correspondence generated by the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of University Police, (1984).

Series 2. - C:1/27/NP (A01-72)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of University Police Campus Alert Network (C.A.N.) program, (1992-1997). The records in this Series consist of memoranda, phone network lists, and campus crime reports.

Note to Researcher: The C.A.N. program was devised and instituted by Sergeant Frank Brown to both promote crime awareness on campus and to quickly notify employees of suspected criminal activity. The program was voluntary and initially operated primarily by means of an intricate phone network system.

Series 3. - C:1/27/3 (A08-89)
This Series contains administrative records created and received by the University of Missouri Police Department, (2003-2004). The records consist of memoranda, forms, reports, and information sheets regarding police officer staffing for campus special events.
