Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Engineering's Office of Engineering Communications. Included in this Sub-Group are newspaper clippings, programs (for commencements, pep rallies, dances, and awards banquets), St. Patrick's Day materials, photographs, photographic slides, films, yearbooks, bulletins, pamphlets, Engineering Week materials, news releases, posters, and manuscript histories of events pertaining to the College of Engineering.

This Collection holds copies of The Shamrock, UMC's College of Engineering yearbook from 1906 through 1933, and issues of a College of Engineering monthly bulletin by the same name (ca. 1933--).

This Series contains photographs and color slides of UMC Professor of Engineering Paul W. Franklin lecturing. Also included in this Series is a folder of Professor Franklin's papers. (1913-1977)

Series 7. - C:9/13/7
This Series contains College of Engineering posters. Included in this Series are a damaged 1908 newsprint poster with the partial title of ". . .in Go Bragh - Suspend Somniferous - Saturnian Study," a 1947 hand-lettered poster bearing the message, "Proclamation - Hear Ye!! Hear Ye!! Heed my warning," a poster stating, "The Forty-Fourth Proclamation of His Honor Saint Patrick" (ca. 1947), a 1949 blueprint poster proclaiming St. Patrick's Day, and proofs of four posters announcing the 1979 rededication of the College of Engineering's 1882 Edison Generator. Additionally included in this Series are pamphlets relating to the generator rededication and associated College of Engineering open house.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
