This Record Sub-Group contains materials created or received by Sam Montague, Executive Director of the Semi-Centennial Celebration of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism. Topics in this Sub-Group include alumni plans and celebrations, budget, history of the Journalism School, formation and work of committees, fund raising efforts, selection of honorary chairmen and honorary sponsors, the Press Congress of the World, printing of announcements, commemorative stamp design and sales, stamp ceremony and issuance of first day cover at Columbia.

Materials in the Sub-Group also pertain to such subjects as the Founders' Day Graveside Ceremony, the Visiting Instructor Program, speeches delivered, correspondence, printed announcements, publications, invitations, seals, first day issue covers and stamp, news releases, meeting minutes, lists of guests, delegates, and representatives to various events, special guests, and honorary chairmen, who included President Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, and Winston Churchill.
