UW Scope and Content Note This Record Sub-Group contains phonograph recordings produced by the
University of Missouri Press. The recordings are of musical performances
and of spoken poetry. The recordings are on 12-inch or 7-inch discs, recorded
at 33 1/3 speed in mono or stereo. Historical Note: The University of Missouri Press issued a total of eight recordings from 1964 to 1977. Five recordings were done with the Collegium Musicum of the University of Missouri under the direction of Andrew Collier Minor, who was a professor in the Department of Music on the Columbia Campus from 1950 to 1985. Two recordings were done as part of the University Press' 'Breakthrough' Series Recordings which were recordings of poetry that was also published by the Press as 'Breakthrough' books. Series Descriptions:This Record Sub-Group is not divided into series. The arrangement is chronological by date of publication or recording date. Langton, one 12-inch album and insert booklet, 1976 Item 4 - Misse des Morts by François-Joseph Gossec, two 12-inch albums, 1977 Item 5 - The Struck Leviathan & The Company of Strangers: Poetry Readings by John Bennett and Peter Cooley, one 12-inch album, 1977 Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
