This Sub-Group contains records and memorabilia of the UMC Department of Speech and Dramatic Art, (1885-1992, bulk 1920-1960). These records were created during Professor Henry Donovan Rhynsburger's tenures as Director of the Missouri Workshop Theatre, 1925-1936 and 1938-1973. Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence files, committee meeting minutes, committee reports, television and radio workshop reports, Dramatic Arts Club records, student organization files, drama magazines and journals, departmental bulletins, Missouri Workshop play production books, Missouri Workshop scrapbooks, Missouri Workshop membership rolls, lists of plays performed by the Missouri Workshop, reviews and critical essays, newspaper clippings, stage crew reports, cast meeting minutes, and photographs of plays, casts, and stage sets. Also included in this Sub-Group are records relating to the Savitar Frolics, the Carousel Club, Starlight Theatre, One-Act Play Contests, MU Drama Festivals, and Missouri Workshop reunions. Many of Professor Rhynsburger's personal papers and much of his personal correspondence are also included in the Sub-Group.
