Record Group: 24 C Record Sub-Group: 2 Records Title: UMC; Committees; Faculty Members Only Dates: 1906-1915, 1983 Volume: 1/2 cubic foot, 0.63 linear foot Scope and Content Note This Record Sub-Group contains records created by various UMC Committees that are composed of faculty members only. Series Descriptions: Series 1. - C:24/2/1 (A89-13) This Series contains materials related to University-Wide Professors Seeking To Recover Excellence And Mirth (UPSTREAM), (1983). This organization was developed "out of concern for low morale and counterproductive attitudes of doom, gloom and pessimism pervasive on the UMC campus, UPSTREAM is an effort to counteract, in positive fashion, defeatism leading to a self-fulfilling prophecy." The group's stated purpose was "to create a caring, trusting climate on our [MU] campuses." Included are correspondence, newsletters, bumper stickers, buttons, tee shirts, logo design. (1/6 c.f., 111, 6) Note to Researcher: This collection was re-classified and moved from Series 9 of Record Group C 0, Sub-Group 10. The previous collection number was C:5/7/2. Series 2. - C:24/2/2 (A03-57) This Series contains printed and duplicated material as well as memoranda created by or in accordance with the Committee of Public Exercises, (1906-1915). The records are contained in a scrapbook and consist of convocation and commencement announcements, programs, broadsheets, invitations, tickets, and campus memoranda. The majority of the records were produced while George Lefevre was chairman of the Committee. Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
