This Sub-Group contains administrative and historical records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Alumni Association.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1 - C:0/3/NP (A98-72; A00-31)
This Series contains administrative records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Alumni Association, (1972-1994). Included in this Series are Development Council information, correspondence files, Executive Committee meeting reports, agendas, minutes and packets, insurance program information, audit materials, placement and career planning materials, campaign and donor materials, Legion of Black Collegians materials, Black Alumni Organization records, Division and Director meeting reports.

Series 2 - C:0/3/17 (A02-159)
This Series contains records created by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1955-1972). The records consist of blank copies of certificates used for the various honors and awards conferred by the Alumni Association. The Series also contains lists of honors and award winners as well as the criteria for the awards. Some of the awards found in the Series are the Distinguished Service Award, the Citation of Merit and the Alumni Association Honorary Membership Award.

Series 3 - C:0/3/22 (A03-102)
This Series contains records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1979). The Series consists of responses to a survey undertaken by the Alumnae Anniversary Fund Committee. The survey was a follow-up to a 1968 survey of 100 alumnae and 100 students that was done as part of the centennial anniversary of the matriculation of women at the University of Missouri. The survey responses give educational and professional information voluntarily provided by the individuals contacted.

Series 4. - C:0/3/23 (A06-34)
This Series contains records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1965-2004, bulk 1985-1995). The majority of the records in this Series are administrative, including meeting minutes, rosters, and agendas for Alumni Association committees, both of the Alumni Association itself and of the alumni associations of individual MU schools and colleges. Also included among the records are correspondence, memoranda, budget files, by-laws, newsletters and other publications related to these school- or college-level alumni associations. The Series also contains photographs and a scrapbook pertaining to Homecoming, (1993-2004).

Series 5. - C:0/3/24 (A06-63)
This Series contains administrative records created by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (ca. 1939-1998, bulk 1985-1995). The records pertain to various administrative aspects and organized events surrounding Homecoming, including the Steering Committee, publicity, Homecoming King and Queen, blood donation drives, decorations, parades, sponsors, and finances. The Series also contains numerous press releases for Homecoming as well as photographs of Homecoming kings, queens, and committee members. A number of Homecoming Rulebooks, football programs, and related newspaper clippings also form part of this Series.

This Series contains administrative and historical records created and received by the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (1978-2007). The records consist of the following types and topics: correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, forms, the Legislative Information Network Committee, the Black Alumni Organization, scholars programs [RESTRICTED], alumni seminars, alumni events, Alumni Assocation's 150th Anniversary files and memorabilia, homecoming manuals and photographs, membership directories, autographed basketball memorabilia, and promotional and development videos.

This Series contains administrative records of the Alumni Assocation of the University of Missouri-Columbia, (ca. 1976-2004). The records consist of correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, reports, directories, and publications concerning the following: regional alumni chapters, Alumni Association campus administrative units, the Alumni Center Management Committee, the Rules Committee, and Faculty-Alumni Awards.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
