Columbia Missourian New Contract Let Simon Construction to Build M.U. Observatory Building August 2, 1920 The contract for the new University Observatory Building has been awarded to the D.B. Simon Construction Company of Columbia for $15,000. It will be a one-story structure with a basement. The foundation will be of stone and the building will be of wood. It will have a shingle roof. The basement will contain the boiler rooms and the laboratories. The main floor will have the office instrument room and the class room while the dome will be the transit of observatory room The work will start immediately and will be completed by December 15th.
