Scope and Content Note

This Record Sub-Group contains materials created by MOBIUS, (ca. 2002, 2005-2006). MOBIUS, also known as Missouri Bibliographic Information User System, is a consortium of academic libraries with member colleges and universities in the state of Missouri. Its purpose is to provide students, faculty, and staff of Missouri's academic institutions with the broadest array possible of information resources in an easy, timely, and seamless manner, regardless of the geographic location of patrons or resources. Founded in July 1998, the MOBIUS office was a part of the University System, reporting to the Vice President for Information Systems, until 2010. In July 2010 it became an independent not-for-profit corporation.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - UW:4/23/1 (A02-138)
This Series consists of printed and duplicated materials produced by or for MOBIUS. It contains three posters entitled, "MOBIUS is the place to go to satisfy your need to know," (ca. 2002). The posters also include the MOBIUS website address (http://mobius.missouri.edu), as well as the motto, "MOBIUS: Linking Missouri's Academic Libraries." The size of the posters is 18x24 inches. The Series also contains informational brochures, (n.d.); annual reports, (2000-2005); and copies of two issues of the MOBIUS newsletter newsLINK, (Fall 2005, Spring 2006); the Fall 2005 issue includes the 2004-2005 MOBIUS Annual Report.

Restrictions Note: The Archives of the University of Missouri-Columbia is required by law and Board of Curator's policy to restrict access to some files and information. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
