Scope and Content Note

This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri (UM-System) Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis (OSEDA), (1963-1996). Included are administrative correspondence, reports, academic personnel records, research analytical and statistical records, planning publications, and reports.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - UW:4/73/NP (A88-69; A97-33; A98-47; A99-56)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis (1963-1996). Included are administrative correspondence, Promotion and Tenure Committee records, records of the Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI), representative community analysis reports, proposals for rural school and community collaboration, records of the Mid-Missouri School Consortium, records of the Missouri Health Council Executive Committee, materials relating to the U.S. President's Council on Rural America (PCRA), data analysis records, applications for staff positions, questionnaires, data code books, and records relating to patterns of the utilization of health services. Other records contained in Series 1 include grant proposals, staff meeting minutes, meeting agendas and meeting minutes of the Courses and Curricula Committee, study summaries and study results, social and economic profiles, and materials used in rural development policy and planning presentations given by UM-System Extension Services Project Director, Professor Daryl Hobbs (1967-1985). Also included in this Series are copies of the 1988 University of Missouri Planning Council reports entitled Planning Assumptions for the Year 2000: The External Environment and Agenda for Action: Building a New Missouri, as well as supporting data and correspondence created or received by co-author Richard Wallace (UM-System Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs from 1985 through 1989 and University of Missouri-Columbia Chancellor from 1996 to the present).
