The records consist of annual reports, symposium planning records, committee and board meeting records, and correspondence. Historical Note: Established in 1988, the Financial Research Institute is one of the outreach programs associated with the College of Business at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The Financial Research Institute, which is funded through private contributions, sees its mission as the promotion of "education, research and service across various areas of finance." One aspect of this mission is the Institute's annual public utilities symposium within its Public Utilities Division. Series Descriptions: Series 1 - C:7/24/1 (A04-32) This Series contains administrative records created and received by the Financial Research Institute (FRI) in the College of Business, (1990-1997). The records consist of annual reports, symposia records, correspondence, and committee and advisory board records. Specific topics found in the records include the FRI's Public Utilities Division Annual Advisory Board meetings, Rate and Regulatory Symposia, and calls for research papers.
