Scope and Content Note

This Record Sub-Group contains records pertaining to Tucker Prairie. The records include correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, publications, and photographic material.

Series Descriptions:

Series 1. - C:6/36/3 (A13-118)
This Series contains administrative and other records created by and for the management of Tucker Prairie by the University of Missouri, (1953-2013). The records consist of the following types and topics: correspondence, photographic prints, slides, and negatives, reports, scientific publications, news clippings, the Tucker Prairie Symposium, the Tucker Prairie Research Center, flora lists, and committee files. The Series includes slides taken by Deborah Rabinowitz of Tucker Prairie as well as other prairie sites in the United States.

Note to Researcher: Tucker Prairie was purchased by the University of Missouri in 1957 and the Tucker Prairie Research Area was established under the leadership of Professor Clair L. Kucera in September of 1958. Tucker Prairie became a Natural Landmark in 1978. Following the tenure of Kucera, the administration of Tucker Prairie was overseen by Professor James Carell and Professor John Faaborg.
